Instructor Patrice Johnson will show you how to make both meringues and it will be up to you which one will come out victorious, even though the ones who get to eat the meringues will be the real winners.

New Recipes for Nordic Pizza - Zoom

How does immigration influence the pizzas served in Norway and Sweden? Join us for an evening of surprising tastes and fun twists on Nordic pizza. We'll make our own dough, and then top it with the modern flavors of sweet corn and shrimp, white sauce with caviar, and Flygande Jakob (Flying Jacob). We'll also toss a traditional pizza salad and shake up a couple of New Nordic-inspired beverages.

Karin’s Garden Dinner at ASI

In honor of ASI’s summer exhibition Karin Larsson: Let the Hand Be Seen, join Patrice Johnson for this special demonstration class featuring some of Karin Larsson’s favorite dishes. An adventurous cook who dabbled in vegetarian cooking and brought back tastes of her travels in Italy and France, Karin’s bounteous garden (and Minnesota’s local markets) will inspire this menu, which will be served outdoors, weather permitting.

Nordic Cooking & Culture Camp at ASI

Get ready to cook and bake Nordic-inspired treats with Patrice Johnson (ASI Nordic Table instructor). During this one day camp, youth ages 6 – 10 will practice new kitchen skills while they learn about Nordic food and culture.
Registration closes 3 weeks before the camp begins.
Camp starts at 9 am, so we kindly ask adults to drop off their campers 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Pick-up will be promptly at 3 pm.

Scandinavian Pizza Tour at ASI

Take a tour through the Nordic region today with one of its most popular dishes—pizza! Patrice Johnson will share three favorite pizzas from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, using their toppings (from bechamel to shrimp) to help tell the story of immigration and changing tastes across the past 50 years of Scandinavian history. A side salad and simple dessert will cap off the meal in this demonstration-style class.

We will create sandwiches, salads, and snacks, all with a Nordic spin, that will keep up your energy to have a great day, either in the classroom or the office.
